A file hosting service, often known as a cloud storage service, online file storage provider, or cyberlocker, is an internet hosting service dedicated to storing user data. After providing a user name and password or other authentication, it enables users to upload files that may be viewed via the internet. The services usually offer HTTP access and, on rare occasions, FTP access. Content-display hosting services (i.e. video and pictures), virtual storage, and remote backup are all related services. File sharing may be done in a variety of ways.
